My name is Helen Goad, I am a fully qualified female hypnotherapist and BWRT Practitioner. I my office is in Penrith, Cumbria, not far from the beautiful Lake District. I also work online via Zoom.
My background is in helping people. My working career began as a holistic therapist; trained in massage, aromatherapy and reflexology. I have also spent time working for the NHS as a qualified Radiographer. I am also a Mum of two.
My interest in Hypnotherapy began when my partner developed panic attacks, which led to generalised anxiety disorder. Gary went along to see a hypnotherapist on recommendation from his GP, his panic attacks improved dramatically.
I went on to study hypnotherapy through a company called Chrysalis, they are nationwide and are accredited by the National Hypnotherapy Society and The Royal College of Nursing and I set up Hypnotherapy Works in 2014.
I specialise in working with Anxiety, Panic, Fears and Phobias as well as negative habits such as Quit Smoking
As well as working with client’s I have been offering training to university students through a talk called My Brain and Anxiety. I also teach them some tips and tools that can and do help with anxiety and also stress.
I also have experience in Psychotherapy, which I studied to aid me with my hypnotherapy work; helping people that may have more sensitive problems such as bereavement, self-defeating behaviours, stress and anxiety.
I am also a member of the National Hypnotherapy Society. In addition to Hypnotherapy, I added BWRT® and WSN therapies to my toolbox, please see the therapies page for more information on the therapies I offer.

My training has continued over the years with a gentleman called Terence Watts, he is an amazing therapist and has thousands of client hours. Terence no longer sees clients; he now commits his time to training and developing the therapies he has created, as well as new ones.
I have more recently become a member of the APHP (The Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy).
